Shozu-ed!
‘Very’Broadband, anyone?
The Hardware I use.
Being labeled a complete techie, you’re assumed to be possessing a multitude of electronic items, at any given point in time. I’ll kinda agree I fall into such a bracket, though there’s still a long way to go until I reach what I consider Tech-Nirvana.
I’ve been thinking about writing a page that summarises what gadgets and devices I frequently use, for quite a while now, and I’ve finally got around to doing it, heavily inspired by Paul Thurrott’s ‘What I Use’ Section.

A tryst with Ubuntu - and back.
The past couple of weeks at home have been spent brainstorming. I was running Windows Vista, but I’m simply not impressed with it. My dual core P4 with 2Gigs of RAm slow down to a crawl sometimes on it, with a 512mb NVidia Geforce 7300 Graphics card slow down toa crawl on it, and its quite disconcerting when that happens. Switched over to Ubuntu 7.10, and was more than impressed by it. Compiz Fusion knocks the living daylights out of Aero. The look and feel of the OS was very, very impressive. I then made the decision to switch over completely to Ubuntu. The overall experience seems so much more stable, and enough eye candy without having to compromise on resources.Unfortunately, I do not think its going to materialise in the long run, even though Ubuntu is a superior OS to MS Windows in many ways. Here’s a few reasons why. Read it all..
An experiment gone sour..
When you’re messing with Computers and live computer networks, sometimes, you experiment with things and they fail. Sometimes, they’re successful, until they are detected by over-enthusiastic sysadmins wanting to prove a point. That has happened. Access to this blog has been banned from my office, for a reason no one who’s ever visited this blog for the past 2 years has known about. Yes, access, only to this blog. No SEV, I can still see your blog, so can I see the parent domain. But I cannot see my own blog.
No, there was no content censorship, but something that really cannot be explained here, for reasons best kept secret.
And hence, there shall not be any posts from work anymore, until and unless I’m using my N82 to post something.
Facebooked?
I started off on Facebook as an alternative to Orkut, pretty impressed by its privacy settings. It was a slick web application, more so because it let you add applications of your own, and hence came along SuperPoke, Superlatives, SuperWall, Characteristics and what not.
I’m the World’s greatest IPhone fan.
Now that the title has everyone’s attention.. read this. I’ve been laughing my head off ever since. Give me my Nokia N82 anyday!
