There seem to be some advantages of staying late in office for research purposes, looks like. The pic below summarises what happened today at 6pm.

And yeah, I was downloading this off the public Internet…
Ah, Life!

well well.. stay back a bit more… say till 2:00 am. I’ve seen 12 MB/s..
Was getting the debian DVDs. You run the ‘wget’ command, do an ALT-TAB, right click on the file to see the “properties” and its already 40 MB!! And yeah.. this was via a proxy.

I seriously doubt your claim of getting 12MB/s. I would like to see it some day…
First of all the most common ethernet broadband connection supports 100Mbps MAX thats 12.5MBps. Even if I assume that you are getting entire bandwidth of your lan network, still your main backbone trunc line should have bw of at least 12 MBps with you getting ALL of it. Though this is not totally impossible. I find it very very unlikely. OFC if you downloading from DC++ or some peer to peer client then it is possible… I have seen that happening.
Cheers,
A
