I’ve been observing this for quite a while now. There has been an overlapping with regards to communication methods. Orkut scraps, Facebook wall posts, messages, and then there’s the old fashioned chat, SMS, phone calls. Its but natural that these would eventually overlap. So, I’ve decided to make a rule for myself.

I’ve decided to communicate ONLY through the media through which that particular conversation thread was started, either by me or the other person.

So, if it was a wall post on Facebook, it shall be replied to as a wall post ONLY, and not by sending a message on GTalk, or on the phone. Likewise for chat, or email and the approximately two dozen other ways of communication I use today.
Of course, there are exceptions to the rule, considering I would not want a conversation veering towards intimacy or confidentiality available stark naked for all to see, but I’m trying to build a general framework.
All a part of taking being organized to a whole new level.
