9 years ago, at about this time of the year, I had my first computer. A shiny new Penitum1 200Mhz with MMX Technology. It had 16mb of RAM and a 2GB hard disk. It had a modem that alowed me to connect to the internet at 33.6kbps. It ran a fast Windows 95 operating system. With the speakers, printer et all, it occupied more than a huge chunk of my study table.
Circa 2007. I still have a 200Mhz processor machine, but now it has about 40MB of RAM, and a 1 gigabyte hard disk. It plays music pretty well even now, and also allows me to watch videos. Wait a minute, I can also make calls, take pictures, check my email, browse the Internet on wi-fi, connect to my printer, and probably drive my car remotely. Only, its about 50 times smaller, and also popularly called the Nokia N80.
Long Live Technology….
