I need sleeep!!!!

Sunday, February 25th, 2007

Flew into Delhi last morning, for a friend’s wedding. The flight I took was headed to London, and the plan was to take the same plane back, on its way back to Mumbai, via Delhi, today morning at about 9.30am.

Wedding awesome. Had a lot of fun. Reached the aiport at about 7.45am for a 9.30am flight, took my boarding card and cooling my heels now in the business class lounge. I’ve slept for about 6 hours in the last 48 hours, and I was looking forward to reaching home by 12.30 and hitting the sack.

But no! For some unconceiveble reason, the SAME flight that dropped me at Delhi and went to London, is delayed by about an hour on its way back from London, inspite of being on time on the way in.

So,

waiting…..borrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrring!

This shall change with the sunrise after the next….

Tu To Nahin Hai Lekin Teri Muskurahat Hai
Chehra Tera Nahin Hai Par Teri Aahatein Hai
Tu Hai Kahan Kahan Hai ,Tera Nishaan Kahan Hai
Mera Jahan Kahan Hai
Main Adhoora Tu Adhoori Ji Rahi Hai
E Ajnabi ….

And hence, cryptic posts have made a comeback…

Yesteday morning, headlining DNA India, in big bold letters..

SAIF ALI KHAN SUFFERS HEART ATTACK.

After about half an hour, walking towards Chembur Station, I noticed a copy of Mid-Day in one of the stalls. Again, headlining..

SAIF HAD CHEST PAIN, NOT HEART ATTACK.

It was refreshing to see that the other newspapers carried a small snippet of this incident, though I really did not bother to scrounge through inside. (more…)

Smartphone Zenith?

Saturday, February 17th, 2007

Imagine this. A hypothetical device with a high resolution ‘x’ megapixel camera, about 4gb memory, with a form factor like the Nokia N95, with support for connecting 3.5mm jack headphones, and all the bells and whistles smartphones come with these days. The subtle difference being, it would come with a little port at the bottom (aka the Ipod), which allows you to dock it to a supplied foldable docking station, scaling the display to fit a 17 /19 inch screen. 14th February - Every year!

Wednesday, February 14th, 2007

Today is the day all mankind must unite to fight an evil that has been plaguing us for eons now. How many times have we walked out, wearing neatly ironed, fresh smelling clothes, only to be vandalised by mankind’s quitessential avian enemy? How many times have we had to soil our handkercheives? How many times have we been left stinky because of these pesky birds? (more…)

Short Message Story

Monday, February 12th, 2007

About 2 weeks ago, sitting at office, pretending to work…

Beep! Message on phone. Ignored, for later.
a second later, beep!.. Another. Again, ignored, for later
a couple of seconds later, beep!.. another one.

Curious, I took the phone out of my pocket to check what it was.. (more…)

Dissection of ‘UberTechnophile’

Saturday, February 10th, 2007

I needed a nickname that defined me. Cyberjunkie was too ‘teenage’ and could easily be confused for someone desperate for cybersex. So, after wearing my thinking cap for something that seemed like a century, I coined

13012007148-small.jpgA couple of weeks ago, 5 of us decided to go to a Dhaba in Pen, a town some distance beyond Panvel on the Mumbai Goa highway. Alcohol and typical Dhaba food were the order of the day, with everyone carrying the latest phones. The highlight? (more…)

The Travails of a Single boot Vista Installation.

Saturday, February 3rd, 2007

The concept of dual booting operating systems never appealed to me. Thats precisely why I had Vista RC1 running as a single OS on my home machine, in the raw state that it was, sometimes consuming 55% Cpu when idle for no obvious reason. (more…)
