The best post I’ve read, in a long long time

Friday, October 27th, 2006

There is a blog I frequently visit, among the few blogs I usually do. The girl’s a life blogger and writes very well. Preferred to be anonymous until a while ago, but does not appear the same way. Our only contact has been a few sentences, on blog comments. Nevertheless, she came up with this today, and this definitely is one HECK of an outstanding post. I’m sure people who are abroad can relate to this VERY well.

Gazzag garbage

Thursday, October 26th, 2006

In the past week, I’ve received a kazillion emails in my Gmail inbox from people, telling me to join their friends network at Gazzag. This is a classic example of educated spam, ie. Intentionally sending out emails to people, flooding their mailboxes for publicity of Gazzag’s social network. There does not seem to be an option to not receive mails, and the only logical way out seems to be to join Gazzag, adding one more subscriber in Gazzag’s network, in the already teeming world of Social Networking. Which brings me to the next point. Why the sudden rush in Gazzag’s popularity? Probably because Orkut is now blocked at most workplaces, considering how people abused Orkut usage from work, with full fledged personal chats on a public forum. Seriously, whatever.

Hmmm, I wonder whats going to happen when Gazzag’s blocked…

I sometimes wonder…

They always said life teaches you things. Things about people. About behaviour. About attitudes. Things I always pooh poohed. Philosophical shit that never interested me. Then came a time, people started throwing shit at me, latest being about a minute before I wrote this. Now, I realise mistakes I made. Now I realise I what a fake existence I am being made to live. How self centered people are. (more…)

Diwali?

Tuesday, October 17th, 2006

An insipid Sunday morning was suddenly turned interesting by what seemed like an innocuous question. Why do we shop INSANELY during festivals? .The repsonse that was given to me was ‘ ‘Everyone does, so we do too.’ This sent my mind into overdrive. (more…)

A month down…

Wednesday, October 11th, 2006

I complete exactly a month in Reliance Communications today. The initial apprehension has given way to confidence, and restoration of my self-belief. I’ve learnt some things, in the process of learning a few things more, and have a lot more to learn. (more…)

Thane - Vashi trains.

Friday, October 6th, 2006

I’m supposed to report to work at 10.30am. I used to take the train at 9.55am at Chembur, change at Vashi for the 10.18 train to Koparkhairane, with my office BANG opposite it. The frequency on the Thane Vashi line was pretty poor, with trains every hour and ten minutes. Luckily, the train was synchronised with the office timings, so it was all good. Everything was going along well, until day before, when word spread that a new train was scheduled to start from the next morning, with an extra service added to increase the frequency to 30-40 mins per train. Too bored to give a Title to this Absolutely Pointless post.

Thursday, October 5th, 2006

It was an evenful start to the week. Had a ‘reunion’ with old college friends, which could have gone better than what I expected, but then, hey, Expectation is the root cause of all disappointments. Its been Work Work Work on Tuesday, a no holds barred verbal duel with folks back home the same night, work work work on wednesday, and a pretty pointless post (THIS) today, since I’m so goddamn jobless. I just thought I’d enlist some absolutely mundane information to this already pointless post, just due to the lack of something to do. (more…)

A Windows Vista Semi - Review.

Monday, October 2nd, 2006

I’ve tried to put together a few points I observed and make a semi-review. Frankly, have not found the time to take Vista apart and examine every minute detail. (more…)
