Vista Screenshots.

Sunday, September 24th, 2006

This one turned out to be a double whammy. As I said yesterday, screenshots of the new stuff in Vista, on Picasa web albums, which by the way is BRILLIANT in itself. We pulled Shutterbugs down, so Picasa web albums shall be the new home for my photos. Instant replacement for Windows Photo Gallery that comes bundled with Vista. Still exploring the Vista Media Center, Screenshots of that too, soon. A detailed review will be up, sometime in this week. For now, check out whats there….

Windows Vista, the real thing!

Saturday, September 23rd, 2006

Finally, it has happened. My home computer is finally running a licensed, public copy of Windows Vista, after two years of downloading the Longhorn pack, Vista pack et al, to give my desktop ‘that‘ zing.

Installation - 30 mins.
Software Deployment - 30 mins more.

First impression? It looks kickass, and performs well too. (more…)

Work!!!!

Thursday, September 21st, 2006

I must admit, I was getting worried. I wanted to take a break, and an extended one at that. No one would understand that. I still managed to take a well deserved break. A month passed, two, three. And I was STILL jobless. Folks at home, worried, and in their own inimitable style, started off with ‘Oh my god! You’ve done your Masters and still have no job???’. I knew what I was doing. From worried family, to concerned friends, who jumped to any random conclusion their brain put forth, I saw it all.

Now, shit is over. A sense of triumph envelops me. As I sit on my office desk, and type this post in between running for a couple of meetings, filling in a Doc about Intrusion Detection systems, and analysing a Security service, I realise. I realise the importance of the virtue called patience. Something we all lack, and we always will. And I can now proudly say this, This is where I want to be, this is what I want to do. And I’ve done it, on my own.

Here I am, THIS is DEFINITELY me.

Mobile phone meets Mp3 Player meets Digital Camera

A lucky co incidence this, SEV’s post about the cell phone factor, and what I’ve written below.

About five years ago, I was the proud owner of a Nokia 3310. It did the job, allowed me to make and receive calls (and get charged for it too, bullshit). In a 2 year phase after that, I got gifted a 64mb card based mp3 player. Very few then even knew what memory cards were. Then I realised, it made no sense (more…)

Font modified. Sidebars optimised. Missing PHP in theme grafted from other themes. HTML code optimised. Unnecessary garbage removed. RSS Feed to Google and WinInfo Supersite on the right sidebar. I think this blog now looks professional, and rightly so, it must. A new chapter has begun.

Re - Organizing, Re - Evolving: 100% complete.

May 8th - Sep 1st: - I’ve had people giving me opinions. Extreme concerns. Tonnes of unacceptable advice even (not necessarily valuable). People giving me their twopence, irrespective of whether they were asked or not. People wondering if what I was doing was ‘right‘, in their limited frame of reference. The time has come. To prove them wrong. To prove I was right. To prove that patience pays. I’m doing what I like. The first step to being independent. Took whatever shit was thrown at me, in my stride. Finally, freedom. No reliance on anyone (pun intended). No more guilt. No more tripe from anyone, even minutely known to me.

Here I am, this is me. I have evolved, again. I’m standing on the threshold. I don’t know of what. Things are looking up, are they?

Sick….in the true sense of the word.
