THEN
There was Skype. Free PC to PC calling. Neat. Then came Skypeout, which allowed skype users to call normal phones, paying a lot lesser money than for traditional phones, no matter where you were.
All this while, I was following a company called Gizmo, that was as good as Skype, if not better, technology wise. Unfortunately, no one thought it was as good as Skype, and the software client provided was quite buggy.

NOW

A one hour conversation later, Gizmo rocks! Ends skype for me! Why? Free calling to landlines (and mobiles, in some cases), in the US, UK, Australia and about 40 countries. Free. Forever. Brilliant. Their business model seems hard to understand though.
