What should be the average length of a blog post? I’ve always wondered how long my posts should be, before the sporadic readers I have here get bored and stop coming back for more, for lack of ’sensible’ content. Personally, there are few blogs that captivate me, and compel me to read the entire post and I am sure most people would share the same view. That is primarily why I maintain my posts very short. I did do some stories which were essentially senseless creative writing, however ironic that may sound, but then that was it, as far as length went

Some really creative friends of mine write poetry on their blogs. Some people blog about something they strongly feel about some about everyday incidents in their life and some REALLY passionate ones about every mundane happening including how many times they peed and crapped on the day. When I started blogging, I wanted to have a way to ‘pen’ random everyday happenings which could be shared with others. Gradually, that turned to be the best way to inform people about what I was upto, and a perfect way to circumvent the question ‘ What you been upto for the past few days, weeks, months or whatever. But then, no one ACTUALLY gave half a shit about what I achieved in my ‘perenially questionable by everyone’ existence (no, I’m not going to explain text within the inverted commas), which contributed to the already brewing realisation inside me, and led to what is already made public by me.

Now I blog, so that some years down the line, when I look back at this site (if it exists then, given the finicky f**** I am), it kindles some nostalgia. Now I blog, so the handful of people I really care about (and I’m sure the feelings are mutual ) keep abreast with happenings that cannot rountinely be discussed, or are just something too trivial to discuss over a Messenger chat, or a Skype conversation. Now I blog when I feel deeply about something, no matter how vague that appears to someone else.

Like now.
